“They installed a bad stone, I haven’t even used it and it’s starting to....” This is common property owner complaint.
Mother nature has given us a precious gift, which has been formed through hundreds of thousands of years. Yet, some people still choose to criticize the gift of stone.
In my opinion, all stones are good, but we must choose the one most suitable for our use. Some stones look very beautiful when they are new, but after a period of time they may become dull, pinholes may begin to appear, or they may even break. Many of these problems are caused from improper maintenance, some from poor manufacturing, and others may be within the stone itself. I believe the contractor/ manufacturer have professional knowledge of their products and are responsible for educating their customers on the characteristics of the stones they plan to use. The most important thing for a consumer is to select a professional contractor and trust their advice.
